The Knot Family Christmas Party

Last Friday we had a Christmas party with the Knot. There was good food, good fellowship, and a lot of laughter--especially when we did a little twist in our gift exchange.

Thanksgiving 2008

We headed up to Merced for Thanksgiving with our good friends, Will and Annette and had a fun time with family and friends.

Thanksgiving Day-we eat at noon sharp because my dad always has to be done to watch his Dallas Cowboys play!

Will was our chauffeur most of the time
He mostly did a good job but if not Annette kept him in line

We went to Yosemite the day after Thanksgiving. Will and Andrew forgot to bring heavy coats so my dad supplied them with his. Andrew proudly wore the Dallas Cowboy jacket.

He always cracks me up

We stopped on the way home at the Pizza Factory for dinner. We highly recommend it!

Real fall photos!

The perfect ending to any visit with my mom & dad

Happy Birthday to my Favorite Sister

To my favorite sister (and my only sister:))-

Happy Birthday!!! You are such a gift from the Lord. I am so grateful to have a older sister who has been my constant friend throughout the years. You are always preferring others, are always calm (good things since baby #3 is on the way), and serve the Lord faithfully.

The biggest thing I appreciate about you is that you are a loyal friend and not just to me! You have always remembered what I tell, followed up on things I share with you, and show genuine concern about me. I always feel special around you.

I remember one Christmas mom got us new charms for our very cool charm bracelets. She gave us one that was half of a heart and said "best friends" on it. We thought it was kind of cheesy at the time but when mom explained it she said that she wanted that for us to remember that we should always be best friends.

As we know mom is always right! You are a best friend to me and I am grateful that God for that blessing.

I love you and miss you always-I am really wishing you lived right around the corner today.

Your little sis

Happy Anniversary Sandersons!!!

Today, 2 years ago Steph and Kyle got married. This was the first wedding I was in after I was just married. It was so exciting to see one of my best friends get to enter into the great adventure I was on. It has been such a blessing to be a part of their lives since they have been married. Our time with them is always refreshing.

We have really learned a lot from Steph and Kyle by watching them humbly submit to God's will during this trial with Suzie being born early. We are amazed at all the Lord has done.

We hope you have a great day rejoicing in the Lord's sweet goodness in your lives!

Andrew's 10 Year HS Reunion

On Saturday night we were able to go to Andrew's 10 year high school reunion. It was fun to learn more about him by meeting some of his high school friends.

We ended the night with a stop at Seven Eleven to get us through the drive home.

Our Birthday Weekend Adventure

1st day of birthday weekend: Friday, October 31st

We started our adventure in Newhall and our first stop was to see Suzie. Ang and Mom had not seen her but have been praying for her this whole time. You can tell how excited they were to finally meet this special little girl.
2nd stop was at In-N-Out for lunch. No Nelson Family trip is complete without at least one meal there.
Next stop, Las Vegas. Where's the first place we went? To the closest restroom found in the mall. That's how it is when you are traveling with all girls!

Then it was time for dinner. The funny thing is that we all got something different. Can you guess you who got what?
Well I gave this one away. Anyone that knows me well knows that pizza will always be my first choice.

2nd day of birthday weekend: Saturday, November 1st

April, my old friend and roommate from college, lives in Vegas with her husband, Mako and the cutest daughter ever, Karis. She was so sweet to be our tour guide to show Mom and Ang the sites on Saturday morning.

This was a special picture for Andrew to remind him of our favorite show to watch together-The Amazing Race.

We are not sure why this statue behind us has no head...
Ang pretended that she she was actually in Paris.

Now for the main event...we got all dressed up with our cowgirl hats, thanks to Mom, for the PBR World Series.

They did a really fun opening for the night. It was a lot more fun and entertaining than I expected.
I love how patriotic country people are.

This is my favorite one of Mom. She had such a great time seeing all the bull riders in person. It was such a fun experience to have with her and to see her so happy. She's easy to please!

Mom with her favorite rider. Yes, she has a favorite.

3rd day of brithday weekend: Sunday, November 2nd
Saying goodbye to April, Mako, and Karis.
We headed back to Santa Clarita and decided we had to do at least one slot machine while being in Vegas. While we were at a gas station on the way out my mom gave me one whole quarter to go crazy with. This was the result:

Overall it was a great weekend. We got lost every time we went somewhere, we ate good food, we had good uninterrupted time to fellowship, we took fun pictures, we laughed a lot, and we finally understand in a small way why mom loves to watch bull riding so much.
Happy Birthday Ang and Mom!
