Cinnamon Rolls and Too Much Cheese

I tried 2 new recipes today and somehow they both worked!

This morning I had two friends over, Sarah and Erin, for brunch. I have always wanted to learn how to make good cinnamon rolls so I tried a recipe that was supposed to be just like Cinnabon. Well, they were not just like them but they still hit the spot.

Sarah's final cinnamon roll before she has her little baby boy.

Then for dinner I made Southwestern Soup, a recipe Erin gave me a while ago. It was so easy and good but the cheese I used was a little messy when we were eating it.

Valentine's Date

On Saturday I took Andrew on a Valentine's date to the Griffith Observatory. He has been wanting to go for a while and it was another good excuse to use the public transportation of LA which he is a big fan of. The day started off with some good In-n-Out! Thanks Mom & Dad:)

The Knot Valentine's Dinner

Our husbands decided to serve us by planning a special Valentine's Dinner for all of us. The food was great but the entertainment was priceless. They wrote special lyrics for each wife to the tune of "Mr. Sandman". It was a fun night!

Happy Birthday Uncle Larry

Today is my dear Uncle Larry's birthday. We had the joy of celebrating the holidays with him this last year. It was so normal having him there because he is truly part of the Nelson family. He is not my real uncle but he is the realest uncle I have ever known. He is my dad's best friend and he has always been in our lives.

Uncle Larry these are the reasons we love you!

1. You are loyal friend. You and daddy have been friends since college! You have always been there for him and truly put him above yourself. Thank you for setting such a good example of what a godly friendship should look like.
2. You love the Lord. You have given so many years to His ministry with joy. It was fun making that scrapbook for you because we were able to see all the places the Lord has so faithfully used you.
3. You make us laugh often. You have the greatest sense of humor. There is no one that you can't get to crack a smile by the hilarious things you do. You are a delight to be around and can make a joke out of anything.

There are many more things that we love about you but I would say those are the top three. Thank you for your unconditional love for our family. Thank you for impacting us all in such a huge way.

I wish we could be there today on your birthday but I am thankful we got to have our own celebration to thank God for the years He has graciously given you.

We love you Uncle Larry!!! Happy 30th Birthday:)

A Normal Night at the Callaways
