Merced Labor Day/Birthday Trip

For the Labor Day weekend we set off for Merced to celebrate my Dad's birthday and Andrew's birthday. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the trip.

Andrew has started his 5th semester in seminary-we are back at it again!

Together Again

For Memorial Day weekend Andrew and I took a little trip to Prescott, Arizona to reunite with old friends. Before Andrew, I had the joy of living with some different girls. For a chunk of time I got to live with Erin, Kim, April, and Nikki after college. All of them have impacted my life in different ways and each of them are very special to me. Well now we are all married and decided we needed to have an annual reunion starting this year.

We had a great time and are looking forward to the next reunion.

A Legacy of Love

Last weekend we had the honor of going to a memorial service for one of my favorite people, Billie Siglin. Bill and Billie have been going to my dad's church for a long time and have been like grandparents to me. Billie went to be with the Lord a few weeks ago and for all of us that knew and loved her it is a great loss.

The greatest thing about Billie was her love for people. She loved joyfully, she loved continually, and she loved instantly. One of her daughters said that she left a legacy of love that we should all carry on and I thought that was the greatest way to put it.

I will miss Billie and it will be weird to go home for a weekend and not see her when I am at my dad's church, but I know that she is praising our Lord in heaven. I can't wait to see her again. The greatest thing about when people you love go to be with the Lord is that it gives you more of an eternal perspective. I long to be in heaven to be with the Lord and now I long for it more to be with Billie again too.

Our Spring Break Trip

Andrew and I were blessed to be able to get a little time away this last week during his spring break. Our first stop was the Midway in San Diego. We were able to get tickets from our friend, Rick, who actually served on this ship while he was in the Navy. Andrew liked to imagine how it would have been to be in Top Gun.

The whole reason we came to San Diego was for the wedding of one of our friends, Dennis, from The Master's Seminary. He and Claudine were married in Balboa Park and we had a fun time looking around the park.

Our next stop was Hume Lake. Andrew gave me the news of our little vacation for my Valentine's Day present. It seemed back in February that it was so far away but really came quickly. Andrew has grown up going to this camp but I had never been there to stay.

There was not much to do but to read, walk, and of course watch some good movies. We had no choice but to relax and we loved every minute of our time up there.

This is where we stayed. We were so blessed to get a great view out of our room. The camp was very dead and we wondered for a while if we were the only one staying in this lodge.
